Born from Nature, Made for Living.
A natural table layer with clear limits and useful proportions
These placemats use genuine hair-on-hide cowhide with hand-laced edging in rectangular and round formats. They are designed for adults who want a durable-looking natural accent beneath dinnerware without the printed repetition, flat pile, or plastic surface feel of faux cow-print fabric and PU leather.
The buying decision in four points
Real hair direction, tonal movement, and naturally individual markings rather than a printed cow pattern.
Two rectangular footprints and one 12.6-inch round format for different place-setting layouts.
A dark whipstitched edge gives each mat structure and a finished Western character.
Every available design is tied to a stated production size so the order is clear before checkout.
Choose size from the complete place setting
Measure the width of the plate, then allow room for flatware and the distance between adjacent seats. The mat should sit fully on the tabletop without hanging over the edge or overlapping the next setting.
A compact rectangle for everyday plates, breakfast settings, small dining tables, and sideboard use.
Adds horizontal room for a dinner plate with flatware or a more layered place setting.
A round footprint for centered plates, small tables, or a softer break from rectangular furniture lines.
Where it earns its place
Creates a defined place for plates and flatware while adding natural texture to a wood or stone-look table.
Works with linen napkins, simple ceramics, clear glassware, and restrained centerpieces without needing a full tablecloth.
Useful as a natural-material base beneath a tray, vase, or dry decorative objects outside meal service.
Brings leather, warm wood, black metal, wool, and neutral ceramics into the same visual language.
Table protection, stated responsibly
Cowhide creates a physical layer beneath dinnerware, but no verified heat-resistance temperature was supplied with this product. Do not use it as a trivet and do not place cookware, bakeware, kettles, warming dishes, or tableware directly from an oven, stove, grill, or microwave onto the mat.
Use a rated trivet or heat pad whenever the serving item may be hot enough to damage leather or the table below. Natural cowhide is also not waterproof or stainproof, so blot spills promptly rather than allowing moisture, oil, wine, or sauce to remain on the surface.
For dinnerware, not direct food preparation
Place plates, bowls, glasses, and flatware on the mat. Do not use cowhide as a cutting board, pastry surface, serving board, or direct contact surface for unwrapped food. It is a decorative household placemat, not a certified infant feeding mat or high-chair tray liner.
Care Guide
- Shake off dry crumbs and brush lightly in the natural hair direction.
- Blot small spills promptly with a clean absorbent cloth; do not rub, soak, or scrub.
- Do not machine wash, immerse, bleach, iron, steam, perfume, or expose to direct high heat.
- Store flat in a dry place. Do not fold sharply or place heavy objects on the laced edge.
- Use a professional cleaner experienced with leather and hair-on-hide for deeper cleaning.
What to expect from natural hide
Exact markings, hair direction, shade, texture, patch placement, edge tension, and finished outline vary naturally. The selected design image represents the intended color family, construction, and size rather than identical hide markings on every mat.
Natural leather and cowhide can have a characteristic material scent after sealed shipping. Air the mat flat in a dry, well-ventilated room away from direct sun, heaters, and open flame. Do not use fragrance or steam to accelerate airing.
Family-space use
This is not an infant sleep, feeding, or play product. Keep it out of cribs, bassinets, play yards, and infant sleep areas. Supervise babies and young children around natural-hide products and hand-laced edges.
